Title: Queen of Babble
Author: Meg Cabot
Publication: May 23, 2006
Publisher: William Morrow
Rating: 3.5 out 5

Synopsis: What's an American girl with a big mouth, but an equally big heart, to do?
Lizzie Nichols has a problem, and it isn't that she doesn't have the slightest idea what she's going to do with her life, or that she's blowing what should be her down payment on a cute little Manhattan apartment on a trip to London to visit her long-distance boyfriend, Andrew. What's the point of planning for the future when she's done it again? See, Lizzie can't keep her mouth shut. And it's not just that she can't keep her own secrets, she can't keep anything to herself.
This time when she opens her big mouth, her good intentions get Andrew in major hot water. Now Lizzie's stuck in London with no boyfriend and no place to stay until the departure date written on her non-changeable airline ticket.
Fortunately, Lizzie's best friend and college roommate is spending her summer in the south of France, catering weddings in a chateau. One call and Lizzie's on a train to Paris. Who cares if she speaks only rudimentary French? One glimpse of gorgeous Chateau Mirac -- not to mention gorgeous Luke, Chateau Mirac's owner -- and she's smitten.
But while most caterers can be trusted to keep a secret, Lizzie's the exception. And no sooner has the first cork been popped than Luke hates her, the bride is in tears, and it looks like Chateau Mirac is in danger of becoming a lipo-recovery spa. As if things aren't bad enough, ex-boyfriend Andy shows up looking for "closure" (or at least a loan), threatening to ruin everything, especially Lizzie's chance at ever finding real love -- unless she can figure out a way to use that big mouth of hers to save the day.

Review: Queen of Babble is the first of three books. Lizzie -- the main character -- is a sweet charming girl. She always gives people the benefit of the doubt, and tries to make everyone happy. Lizzie is a likable character, but sometimes her good nature gets her in trouble. The synopsis that goes with this book seems more drama related then it actually is. Her big mouth isn't THAT bad; it gets her in trouble and she should keep her mouth shut, but what she says doesn't create wars, it just gets people pissed off. Andy -- her boyfriend in London -- is not such a good person so she dumps him and gets on a train to visit her friend who's working at a Chateau in Paris. While on the train, she meets a stranger and cries on his shoulder. She spills her secrets not thinking she'll see him again, but by the end of the train ride he follows her out. Turns out it's Luke -- the owners son -- and now her embarrassing secrets are with him. Lukes cousin is getting married in the Chateau, so she's working her butt off to get everything straightened out, while keeping an eye on Luke.

The only thing I don't like about this book is how ditzy Lizzie is. Her kind nature is nice to read, but it blinds her from the truth. Example: Andy lives with his parents when he said he'd have a flat when she visited. In her mind, "Oh, he's a family man!" when in reality he's a bum. This goes on for the whole book, and you kind of want to bop her on the head. Otherwise the characters are fun to read and the plot is enjoyable.

You sure read loads of Meg Cabot's books!

Hah! There will be tons more. She's one of my top five favoriet authors. :D

Hello!
Can I just say that your blog is one of the best I've seen in awhile. I can tell that your audience will grow super big, super fast. I wish I was as lucky as you but I can also see that you've put a lot of effort into your blog. I love the design and the theme. I really hope you'll be able to check out my blog and maybe we can work with each other in the future to further promote out blogs. Do you have a button? I would absolutely love to do a button swap with you. Sorry for my long scattered comment but I just really like your blog. Almost 90 followers in the matter of a few days is a massive achievement. It took me months to get there!
Hope you can follow me,

What you should do: promote like crazy, do some giveaways, post at least 1-2 times a day, have authors guest post for you, do some blog hops... this isn't easy work; this has taken me hours to complete.

Thank you for the compliment! It really made my day. :D

I couldn't find a way to reply to the comment but trust, I spend hours trying to promote my blog. When I didn't have school, it basically consumed my day for those weeks. Unfortunately now, I can't post every single day but I try to post at least a few times a week. I've tried a few blog hops but I'll try to do more. I completely understand when you say it's hard work. Also, I just grabbed your button! You can find it under 'Blog Roll'. Hope you can grab mine too! Thank you!
P.S
I don't think you need to use recaptcha. It's not really necessary unless you think you get a lot of spam.
Best regards,
